Starting the Winter with Young in the Wood!
As we wrap up the Chagim period, we’ve launched into a busy season of winter events,
offering a variety of options to ensure everyone feels at home!

Comedy Night
We had the pleasure of hosting Chani Lisbon for a hilarious evening filled with (mostly)
Jewish jokes! On top of that, we welcomed a few talented young professional
comedians from London, who delivered incredible opening acts.
A huge thank you to Michalle, Louis, Jonathan, and Levi for making it such a
memorable night!

Ulpan Course
There was high demand – and we made it happen!
We’re thrilled to see two Ulpan groups running in St. John’s Wood: one on Sunday
mornings and one on Monday evenings.
The Sunday morning group coincides with the Hebrew School, creating a wonderful
atmosphere as people of all ages come together to learn Hebrew.
Want to join? We have a few spots left in the Monday beginners’ group, and after the
winter break, we’ll be starting an advanced group. Contact us for more information!

Prominent Figures Course
Embark on a journey through some of the most significant figures in Jewish history! We
began with a historical overview and dove into the fascinating life and achievements of
Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi.
In January, we’ll explore the Rambam, Moses Mendelssohn, the Hasidic Movement,
Emma Lazarus, Naomi Shemer, and more! Don’t miss out on this inspiring series.

Challah Bake
Our annual Mitzvah Day event with GIFT took place in November, where we baked
challah both for ourselves and for those in need within the community. It was a beautiful
way to come together and give back.

Post-US Election Series

Thanks to a fantastic initiative from one of our community members, we launched a
series exploring the history and current state of the US and its relationship with Israel.
So far, we’ve had an introductory lecture, watched Hamilton, and we’re eagerly
anticipating an event in January featuring Dr. Daniel Gordis, who will delve into today’s
global hot topics.

Do you have a great idea for a community event? Want to bring people together for
something? Get in touch with us!

Late Kabbalat Shabbat
We’re continuing the tradition of late Kabbalat Shabbat during the winter months. Join
us for uplifting singing and a warm community spirit as we welcome Shabbat together
every Friday at 17:30!
