St John’s Wood Synagogue enjoys an enviable location a stone’s throw from the heart of Jewish north-west London, making it a perfect location for daily Jewish life. From kosher delis to local primary schools, here are some of the local hot-spots for you to explore.

Hotels

There are several hotels within walking distance of the Synagogue that would be happy to host members and their friends and relatives. Two hotels that are aware of Sabbath requirements for observant guests are:

Schools

The closest Jewish primary schools are Naima JPS in Maida Vale and North West London Jewish Day School in Willesden.

Hospitals

The Wellington Hospital and the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth are located close to the Synagogue. At this time there are no specific Shabbat facilities available, although both hospitals are familiar with orthodox patients’ needs and offer Kosher food.

Kosher Food

For a big weekly shop there are several kosher supermarkets within driving distance of St John’s Wood, in Golders Green, Temple Fortune or Hendon.
The area adjacent to the Synagogue also has many places to stock up on selected items of kosher food.

Panzers Delicatessen on Circus Road, London NW8 has a large selection of fresh foods, and sells challah on Fridays.

Habibas Deli on Fairfax Road, London NW6

Smaller kosher selections can be found at:
