Beverley-Jane Stewart (Mainz) is an Award-winning artist and an active member of our community.  She has an honours degree in Education and Art from London University and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.  She has established a niche in the art world in her combination of art and social history.  In particular she has undertaken a series of paintings depicting the life of a synagogue. Her painting in honour of the 125th anniversary of the United Synagogue was adopted as the cover illustration for Jonathan Sack’s book, Community of Faith.  In 2016, she was commissioned to do the cover and illustrations for The Jewish Community of Golders Green: A Social History by Pam Fox.

It was a great honour when Beverley was chosen from artists worldwide to produce a work to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration.  Her work, Balfour Accomplished, depicts the past century of British, Jewish and Israeli life and is part of the Jerusalem Biennale Exhibition.  The painting is being exhibited in the Knesset on 10th November when the Government formally marks the Balfour anniversary.

Please join us to hear about her work and this historic piece on Balfour.
